2007-2011

This map shows summary totals of originated home loans to borrowers in the city of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania over the span of years from 2007-2011. Lending data has been gathered from reports required by The Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) - a federal law approved in 1975 that requires mortgage lenders to keep records of key pieces of information regarding their lending practices. HMDA data is collected and made available by the FFIEC, the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council.

HMDA data is recorded at the census tract level (2000 census base) and has been aggregated into the nearest (or containing) Pittsburgh neighborhood. Since census tracts were redrawn after the 2010 census, there are some slight differences in neighborhood aggregations between the 2007-2011 summaries and the 2012-2019 summaries.

Population data for 2007-2011 neighborhoods was sourced from the data set: Neighborhoods with SNAP Data, published by the City of Pittsburgh.
